Wow great news. Saw Walfredo Reyes Jr live with Steve Winwood, bloody great drummer and REALLY grooves! Can anybody give us any more info on what the DVD will be about, if it will specialise in Latin or general playing etc..

Alrighty, I did say I would update and so I will..
The majority of filming is done, that is with the live band, drums etc
The DVD will be on world rhythms/grooves.. mostly from the central and south american areas, as well as some cuban and afro-cuban stuff. Also on how to incorperate these grooves, ideas using aux percussion on the left side of the kit.
The bass player was Alfonzo Johnson, Roger Burns on Keys, Also on percussion was Danniel (reyes) and another guy whos name I forgot, as well as the guitarist. All great players of course. Wally being a fantastic drummer, pulls out some really sick latin stuff.
The DVD looks like it should be a very good, insightful look into the latin realm of playing on kit. The cammerra views are pretty good, the editing would make or break most of that I would assume.
The DVD will be on Hal Lennord and was directed by Keith Wyatt.
All super nice guys to hang out with, a very enjoyable expierence.

Did Roger play any vibes/marimba on any of the songs??
It'll be great to see another latin DVD/Video come out. I still watch my old Acuna, Walfredo/Weckl, and Bissonette vids for the Songo inspirations.
I've never seen Walfredo Jr. play..... is he of the same caliber as Horacio "el Negro" Hernandez?? Love that guy from the 2002 Drummers collective video.

Hey wecklsmechanic..
No unfortunately roger didn't play any vibes or marimba's . He stuck strictly to residing behind his keyboards this time.
Wally's a great guy and drummer. I would say he didn't in this case display the technical chops that guys like antonino and hernandez. That isn't to say he can't, I dunno. He's got a great feel and just an massive wealth of world rhythms in him though.
The DVD should be pretty cool.. I was not around for the commenting portion of the filming or for the stuff having to do with the book it comes with. A cool touch btw!
